Kai, Alamby and Lok C of DigitalRevTV are back (sort of).  In this episode, the gang take a break from their between season break to produce a low budget action trailer using nothing but the GoPro Hero3 Black Edition, and along the way, they discover the camera’s ups, downs, good points and not so good points.

Can the GoPro remain the King of the POV Mountain?

This looks like a job for Wong…  James Wong.

The GoPro Hero3 is an impressive little camera.  GoPro have upped the ante in this camera’s performance while lowering it’s size and weight.  But although it’s 4k capabilities are buzz worthy (“4k” is going to be the “megapixel” of 2013), when put to practical use, it’ll only deliver at 15 frames per second.  Couple that with the fact that the only 4k TVs available now are in the $10,000 USD price range, and you can see that practical use of 4k tech for us every day folk is still a while away.

The GoPro Hero3 Black Edition does however, represent a significant improvement in image quality and low light performance over it’s predecessors, and it’s price has fallen to $400 USD.
