Nate “Blunty” Burr (aka Blunty 3000) slaps a Bower 7.5mm fisheye lens (also sold under the brand names Rokinon or Samyang, depending on where you buy it) on his Micro 4/3 camera and takes it out for a spin. This is one of our favorite lenses for the M43 format, and it’s also one of the least extensive.
(Language Warning: Blunty has a tendency to get a little… well… Blunt from time to time. So , if that offends you, then you might want to move on to another video)
Here’s what Blunty had to say about the lens:
The Bower (also branded as Samyang, Rokinon and a few other names) 7.5mm UWA Full manual Ultra wide angle (UWA) lens for Micro four thirds cameras is good for those of you who love your fish-eye skateboarding & parkour videos, at least those who aren’t scared of running their camera in M (Manual) mode 😉
The 7.5mm f/3.5 Ultra Wide-Angle Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 from Bower gives you a 180° view with dramatic, exaggerated perspective when used with a Micro 4/3 camera. With hybrid aspherical lenses and a multi-layer coating, you’ll be able to produce sharply defined images with a minimum of flare and ghosting. This compact and lightweight manual focus 7.5mm lens focuses as close as 10cm (4″ in out-of-date measurements 😉 ) from the lens for even more dramatic effects. This lens has a built-in petal lens hood.
