The End is Nigh! Here’s a little Teaser Video for a project called The End of the World Shootout, by Shian Storm. The upcoming shootout video is going to pit the new Panasonic Lumix GH3 and it’s predecessor, the Lumix GH2 ($1,298 and $499 respectively) against the Canon 5D Mark III and the new Black Magic Cinema Cam – both priced around the $3,000 range.
Here’s Shian’s Video Description:
We took a brand new GH3, a Hacked GH2 running Nick Driftwood’s Intravenus patch, and put them head-to-head against a Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera and a 5DMKIII in high contrast situations to see if the two Panasonic cams could hang with their $3000+ brethren. The results surprised us.
Keep in mind, they’ve been graded to look similar, but in their “raw” state there are very distinct differences. You’ll also see 3 other tests where we found that 2 of the cams can see in the dark – one of them as well, if not better, than the human eye.
Results show coming soon.
Editor’s Note: I’ve shot with the GH cams and I know what they can do. IMO, they’ll hang with the best of ’em, and at $499 USD the GH2 is one of the biggest bargains out there.
