This is a short test in low light against the hacked GH2. The GH2 is set to 1080/24p AVCHD 44Mbit with Auto Quantizer 4. The NEX 5N is set to 1080/25p AVCHD 24Mbit. We’ve included some 1080/50p slow motion footage as well and normally lit scenes shot with the NEX 5N. Lenses: GH2 – Samyang 35mm F1.4, 5N – Canon 50mm F1.2 L. Both set to F1.4 throughout. Later 5N scenes are with the standard 18-55mm kit lens. When comparing these cameras, one factor to consider is the number of available lenses. The GH2 is a micro 4/3 camera and [More]
Hands-on with the SONY NEX-VG20 vs the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2. Bottom line: The GH2 and VG20 are both great cameras. Aside from the form factor, with the GH2 taking on a traditional DSLR-like shape, and the VG-20 more of a video cam style, here are some observations. The VG-20 lacks manual color, contrast and sharpness adjustments, but it has a built-in headphone jack and full manual audio control, it is better than the unhacked GH2 in low light and the factory-set color profile is just fine. The GH2 does handle moire better — but just barely. You will see moire [More]

Mike and Nick from Unique Photo do some night shooting to measure the Canon G1X, Panasonic GX1 and the Olympus OMD EM5 in a head to head to head match up. From Mirrorless Central: Bottom Line – The OMD EM5 and the Panasonic GX1 are both great cameras, they’re two of our favorites from the last year or so and you can’t go wrong with either. We haven’t personally tested the Canon, but it looks like a decent offering for those who aren’t in to interchangeable lenses. Our conclusion: The OMD is clearly the “Mercedes” of the bunch, and it [More]
A short film shot with the new Olympus OMD EM-5. Took a in a shopping mall to shoot. Shot it with Monotone settings straight out of camera.
Another review of the Olympus OM-D EM-5, hands down one of the best mirrorless cameras – check that – one of the best cameras PERIOD, to come out in the last several years. Pros and enthusiasts alike love this camera for it’s stunning Image Quality, 5 point image stabilization, lightining fast autofocus and retro form factor. If you’re interested in the OMD, we also recommend that you pick up the optional battery grip. It makes the camera easier to hold, and of course, adds to the battery life.

The GX1 is a great camera, period… but it’s especially great for someone who’s looking to capture high quality photos and video, but pack that ability into a body that’s easy to carry around – and the GX1 delivers on all counts. At the [More]
In the kickoff of season 3, Kai and Lok from DigitalRevTV compare an entry level DSLR – the Nikon D3100 – with a mirrorless camera – the E-P3 to see if there is still a point of having a DSLR. It looks like the small Olympus PEN E-P3 holds up pretty well against the Nikon, even surpassing it in some categories, and with recent advances in sensor technology, we’d bet that new Olympus cameras, like the new PEN Lite (E-PL5) and PEN Mini (E-PM2), that are equipped with the same sensor as the flagship OM-D E-M5 would do even better.
