Hands-on with the SONY NEX-VG20 vs the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2. Bottom line: The GH2 and VG20 are both great cameras. Aside from the form factor, with the GH2 taking on a traditional DSLR-like shape, and the VG-20 more of a video cam style, here are some observations. ALL Handheld video! Steve Huff with a sampling of video quality from the Olympus OM-D camera. Nothing artistic but most of this is in low light areas. Some at ISO 1600. Lenses used were the 12mm f/2 and 45mm f/1.8. The 5-Axis IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) is AMAZING and worked so well. The good news? No shake, no wobbling and no Jello effect! At the end, Steve does a side by side comparison with video from the Fuji X-Pro 1, and the Olympus easily overtook the Fuji in regards to Video.

Another review of the Olympus OM-D EM-5, hands down one of the best mirrorless cameras – check that – one of the best cameras PERIOD, to come out in the last several years. Pros and enthusiasts alike love this camera for it’s stunning Image Quality, 5 point image stabilization, lightining fast autofocus and retro form factor. If you’re interested in the OMD, we also recommend that you pick up the optional battery grip. It makes the camera easier to hold, and of course, adds to the battery life.
