Here’s a short, but thorough hands-on look at the Sony NEX-6 from WorldMediaFull that we gleaned off of YouTube. The NEX 6 squeezes in between new NEX 5R (but adds an EVF and dedicated mode dial that the 5R does not have) and the highly celebrated NEX 7, and actually is a lot like the 7. In fact, it’s almost identical in size and configuration, but the main difference is that the NEX 7 has a 24 mp sensor while the NEX 6 has a 16 mp sensor (and also adds with WiFi). For 99% of the people, the sensor [More]

Photographyblog has posted another series of videos taken with the new Panasonic Lumix GH3 using different camera settings. Aside from the video above (which is an MP4, 1920×1080, 25fps), the others are of the same dancing girls from our previous post, but these videos are hosted on Vimeo instead of YouTube, so the quality is a bit better. Photographyblog writes: Here are seven Full 1080 HD movies taken with the new Panasonic GH3 compact system camera using the MOV, AVCHD and MP4 formats, including 72Mbps in ALL-I. They’ve all been uploaded onto Photography Blog’s Vimeo HD channel where you can [More]
The New Panasonic Lumix GH3 is getting into the hands of some select bloggers for photo and video reviews, and here’s one of the first from ePhotozine (Check out photos, video and discussion). The video above was recorded at 50p using the 12-35mm f/2.8 Panasonic lens. Not surprisingly, the 16.05 Live MOS sensor delivers and video looks great (YouTube compression aside), and although we’re not 100% sure, it sounds like the audio was captured by the GH3’s onboard stereo mic, and it too, sounds great. Check out the GH3 and the 12-35mm f 2.8 lens below:

Nate “Blunty” Burr (aka Blunty 3000) “borrows” a pre-production Olympus 75mm f1.8 lens at an Aussie Trade Show and takes it for a spin around the block. Here’s what Blunty has to say: This High-Grade Portrait Lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras boasts top class quality among all M. ZUIKO DIGITAL Lenses conforming to the Micro Four Thirds System Standard. Please note, my time with the new 75mm lens was also within my first 24 hours with the OM-D E-M5, so this was all “suck it and see” experimentation, the sample video and still photography was more about playing with [More]
Texting is Gefährlich is a short video shot by Marco Solorio and the crew from OneRiverMedia using the new Black Magic Cinema Micro 4/3 lens mount camera… and we have to say, we are VERY impressed with this new camera. Here’s what Marco has to say about the shoot: As they say, you only live life if you take chances. We uploaded our short video, “Texting is Gefährlich” to Vimeo, knowing it would probably be the first Cinema Camera video out there, scrutinized by everyone on the planet. Honestly, this is a scary, and daunting idea, especially when our production [More]
Marco Solorio of OneRiverMedia puts his Canon 5D Mark III on the same rig as the new Black Magic Cinema Micro 4/3 Lens Mount Camera. Although Marco says that this is not a “shoot out” or head to head contest, the results are undeniable… The Black Magic Cinema Camera blows the 5D Mark III out of the water in virtually every category. Most of the major advancements in imaging are now coming from the mirrorless camera realm, with major releases from Panasonic, Olympus and Sony, and small companies like Black Magic Cinema pushing the envelope even further. Even Marco says [More]

The Fuji just got a new firmware upgrade that has greatly enhanced it’s AF speed, but is that enough to keep up with the blazing fast speed of the OMD? Watch and see… The X-Pro 1 and the OM-D E-M5 are two of our absolute favorite mirrorless cameras, and both of them produce STUNNING QUALITY IMAGES that rival (and even surpass) just about any DSLR out there. Nate “Blunty” Burr (aka Blunty 3000) slaps a Bower 7.5mm fisheye lens (also sold under the brand names Rokinon or Samyang, depending on where you buy it) on his Micro 4/3 camera and takes it out for a spin. This is one of our favorite lenses for the M43 format, and it’s also one of the least extensive. (Language Warning: Blunty has a tendency to get a little… well… Blunt from time to time. So , if that offends you, then you might want to move on to another video) Here’s what Blunty had to say about the lens: The [More]
This video was actually shot with the new Sony DSC-RX1 – the World’s first compact digital camera with Full-Frame sensor. The RX1 is a fixed lens camera, which makes you wonder if Sony have plans to release an interchangeable lens version in the future. Geekanoids roll out a 1080p Full-On Video Test of the Olympus OM-D EM-5. This video features some 1080P footage using the camera both tripod mounted (opening scene) and handheld (outdoor scenes), all with the internal mic. While this is far from the best video that we’ve seen produced with this little beastie, we can’t help being impressed by the results that the OMD produces in video, especially with it’s rock solid 5 point IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) and blazing fast auto-focus. It’s no wonder why to E-M5 is a favorite of Pro and Enthusiast photogs alike. The OMD features [More]
