ALL Handheld video! Steve Huff with a sampling of video quality from the Olympus OM-D camera. Nothing artistic but most of this is in low light areas. Some at ISO 1600. Lenses used were the 12mm f/2 and 45mm f/1.8. The 5-Axis IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) is AMAZING and worked so well. The good news? No shake, no wobbling and no Jello effect! At the end, Steve does a side by side comparison with video from the Fuji X-Pro 1, and the Olympus easily overtook the Fuji in regards to Video.
Steve Huff takes a first look at the Olympus OM-D along with the 12mm and 45mm lenses, the lenses that Steve calls “the best two lenses you can get for the M 4/3 system.”
In this video, the gang from DigitalRevTV look at the low light performance of the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and compare it to two other latest mirrorless cameras: the Olympus OM-D E-M5 and Sony NEX-7. How do they perform with autofocus in low light and what is the EVF like? We also compare the noise performance of each camera. Does the new OM-D E-M5 manage to produce a GH2 style virtuoso performance in video mode? There are some question marks over that – but as a stills camera it stands up very well against some very tough competition – the 5D Mark III, Fuji X Pro 1 and Sony NEX 7. Since a live view mode is essentially the same as a video mode, mirrorless cameras with their EVFs and LCDs in place of an optical viewfinder have had a head start on DSLRs when it comes to video. Many people have high hopes for the E-M5 and in [More]

In this video, individual questions are answered by Panasonic experts (including Dean) during a live talk with online users. From Mirrorless Central:  We love the 12-35 mm lens that Dean recommends in the video.  Another great, and more cost friendly, option is the Olympus 45mm f/1.8 lens, which is compatible with all M43 cameras, including the Pannys (another reason why we love the micro 4/3 format). Unless you’re completely strapped financially, we also recommend that you [More]

A short film shot with the new Olympus OMD EM-5. Took a in a shopping mall to shoot. Shot it with Monotone settings straight out of camera.
Another review of the Olympus OM-D EM-5, hands down one of the best mirrorless cameras – check that – one of the best cameras PERIOD, to come out in the last several years. Pros and enthusiasts alike love this camera for it’s stunning Image Quality, 5 point image stabilization, lightining fast autofocus and retro form factor. If you’re interested in the OMD, we also recommend that you pick up the optional battery grip. It makes the camera easier to hold, and of course, adds to the battery life.

In the kickoff of season 3, Kai and Lok from DigitalRevTV compare an entry level DSLR – the Nikon D3100 – with a mirrorless camera – the E-P3 to see if there is still a point of having a DSLR. It looks like the small Olympus PEN E-P3 holds up pretty well against the Nikon, even surpassing it in some categories, and with recent advances in sensor technology, we’d bet that new Olympus cameras, like the new PEN Lite (E-PL5) and PEN Mini (E-PM2), that are equipped with the same sensor as the flagship OM-D E-M5 would do even better.
