43Rumors received a nice piece of trivia regarding the Panasonic Lumix GH2. It seems that Top Gear, which is the world’s most watched television show, uses the GH2 for their aerial photography (so it was most likely used in the sequence above).
Here’s the tip as it appears on 43Rumors
The BBC has very strict rules regarding image quality and I am glad to see they use the GH2!
Although it was fairly abundant at the time that it’s successor, the Panasonic Lumix GH3 was released, the GH2 has been disappearing from store shelves, and new ones are actually becoming pretty scarce. Of course, this isn’t really a big surprise because despite the fact that it’s now a three year old model, the Panasonic GH2 is still one of the best video cameras you can buy, certainly the best you can get for less than a thousand dollars, and it’s proven itself time and time again against highly celebrated video cameras that cost tens of thousands more. More praise for the GH2 comes from the fact that there wasn’t a flood of the former flagships hitting ebay when the GH3 reached wide release. It seems that those who moved up to a GH3 decided to hang onto their GH2s as well. After all, it’s tough to part with a workhorse camera that’s durable and delivers tremendous results. We may be entering a new chapter in the story of the Panasonic GH2, but with so many pros still using it with incredible results, this book is far from closed.
